How good is the diving? Here is an excerpt from
Scuba Diving Magazine.
“On the south side of Roatan, Fantasy Island, like the cloud forest, is a world unto itself. You start breathing from a tank practically the moment you cross the bridge that leads there. The resort has recently been renovated, so everything has that fresh-out-of-the-box smell. With an on-site Dive Shop, it's easy to get in the water right away.
Being on the French Harbor side of the island gives Fantasy Divers quick access to some of Roatan's best dives. I never miss nearby Mary's Place, a lush site that never fails to thrill. Here, crevices and overhands harbor every Caribbean creature imaginable — REEF reports that Roatan is the only island in the Caribbean where you can find every species in the sea. You'll see grouper, lobster, nurse sharks, seahorses and lots of octopuses. In silverside season, the cracks are packed with mercurial rivers of these tiny fish, as well as the predators that feed on them.
When at Fantasy Island, I also dive as much as I can at the onsite Dive Gazebo. The shop will leave tanks for you day or night, and there's a nice wreck and a sunken airplane just a giant stride away. The list of dive sites Fantasy visits is extensive, including the Valley of the Kings, CoCo View Wall and the wreck of the Prince Albert.”
Rates include air fare from Milwaukee, three boat dives per day, unlimited shore diving, three meals per day, unlimited kayak usage, use of pools, basketball court and tennis courts.
Dates: June 21 - June 28, 2008

SHORE
DIVING AT ITS BEST:
Let your Adventure Begin in Bonaire!

The
island of Bonaire is outside of the hurricane belt and inside
some of the greatest diving in the Western Hemisphere. Bonaire
is known as "Divers Paradise" because it has some
of the most pristine reefs in the Caribbean.
Located just east of Aruba and Curacao and about 50 miles
north of the coast of Venezuela, Bonaire is known for modest
depths, little current, and abundant marine life. There is
no better place to learn to dive or perfect your underwater

Night
dives can be done from shore right off the resort or at the
famous Town Pier and are generally the highlight of the trip.
For those new to night diving, the Advanced Open Water course
or the Night Diving specialty can be an exciting way to gain
meaningful diving experience while in Bonaire.
Shore diving is the primary means of diving on Bonaire, and
the resort where we will be staying makes this easy by providing
rental vehicles and unlimited access to air cylinders. Boat
diving is also available, with most dives being done off from
Klein Bonaire, a small, uninhabited island to the west. Nearly
all dive sites are within a fifteen minute boat ride.
Dates: March 22nd through March 29, 2008
Price: Starts as low as $1899 per diver!
Trip includes roundtrip airfare from O'Hare and 7 nights
lodging in a 2 bedroom furnished condominiums at Buddy

Galapagos Islands:
Whale Shark Season!
SOLD OUT: October 2007!
SOLD OUT: October 2008!
7-night All-inclusive dive package
Prices start at $3,695 per person double occupancy
This
is a magical world like no other, the ultimate in big animal
diving adventure trips! Deep Blue will again travel back to
enchanted islands of the Galapagos Archipelago, 600 miles
of the western cost of Ecuador. From the moment you step off
the plane you are entering a magical world of wildlife wonders
unfolding before your eyes during our week of adventure. The
on-board experienced Galapagos guides will share their in-depth
knowledge of these volcanic islands. The combination of shore-based
nature tours and high-voltage diving in areas visited only
by a very lucky few provide for a truly unique liveaboard
diving expedition. Advanced diving conditions open a world
of wonder and awe.
We
will travel to the very remote areas of Darwin and Wolf Islands
that are only seen by a very few of the visitors to Galapagos.
Rewarding us will be schooling hammerhead and Galapagos sharks,
whale sharks, mantas and myriad other pelagics that frequent
these waters. Hold on to your regulators at remote Wolf and
Darwin Islands with hammerhead sharks everywhere. Darwin’s
Arch is considered by experts to be the Shark-Mecca of the
world. Sharks are a protected in the Galapagos Marine Reserve
and are present in large numbers at close range to divers.
Darwin’s Arch is also believed to be the BEST place
in the world to encounter “Mr. Big”, whale sharks.
And the top time to be there is in Aug/Sept - this is whale
shark season!
The Galapagos are a UNESCO natural world heritage site and
the second largest marine reserve in the world. Emerging from
the sea some nine million years ago, these islands were created
by a combination of tectonic forces and volcanic eruptions.
Today they still are in one of the most active volcanic regions
of the world. Located on the hot equator, water temperatures
are cooler than you would expect due to local upwellings that
originate in Antarctica and bring cool nutrient rich waters.
The mixture of warm currents from Central America and cool
water has produced an amazing variety of climates, flora,
and sea life. This is a land and sea trip. On board you will
have time between dives along with a Galapagos Nature Guide
to explore and photograph the abundant wildlife and craggy
volcanic scenery while walking along trails through colonies
of sea lions, marine iguanas and sea birds. Snorkeling with
tropical penguins and sea lions will just add to the fun.
