Day Three: Just Getting Warmed Up!

OCTOBER 24, 2005 - Our second day of diving started as soon as the sun came up. The nice thing about being on a Live-aboard is that when you wake up each morning, you are a new dive location with a hot breakfast waiting for you. This morning, we found ourselves at "Two-of-a-Kind".

There is nothing quite like staring down a green moray eel at 8am. The morning dives brought us some great experiences, but it was the night dive that was the highlight of the day.

The captain took into the middle of Lighthouse Reef to a spot called Eel Town. The dive was shallow, about 30 feet. The bottom was crystal sand, with numerous coral heads dotting the landscape. In these coral heads lived the eels were were looking for. But that was only part of the fun - this outpost was traffic central for all sorts of night creatures like squid and octopus. It was like being in a protected aquarium. We spotted scorpion fish, eels, stingrays, crabs, and a lot more!
