Day Five: We Play in The Sandbox

OCTOBER 26, 2005 - The Silver Caves brought us to the west side of Lighthouse reef. Our mooring put us 30 ft. above the top of the reef with channels of corals that sloped to a wall. Beyond the wall, an abyss. This dive was memorable for large amount of rope sponge and sea fans. We also caught a glimpse of reef sharks patrolling the outer fringes of the wall. We spent our time swimming through the channels, find stingrays, spotted eels, and plenty of schooling jacks.

Nighttime meant it was time to play in the Sandbox! The wondrous night diving continues! The Moon Jellyfish were abundant here, and ridiculously easy to photograph. Nothing is more comical than finding a sleeping parrotfish with their heavy lidded, bloodshot eyes.
